Painter and writer, Jean-Claude Besson-Girard is director of the theoretical and political degrowth review, Entropia. He has theorized and practiced degrowth throughout the 1970s by managing a peasant community. Throughout his life, he has attempted to reconcile his convictions and practices in order to remain coherent. He is the author of “Decrescendo Cantabile” in which he uses cultural and esthetic lenses to interpret degrowth (Parangon 2005).
